Se busca identificar algunos de los rasgos fundamentales del vínculo entre la universidad y el Estado. Así, a partir de la revisión del pensamiento de destacados filósofos y estudiosos de la educación superior, es ofrecida una interpretación de los modelos universitarios europeos del siglo XIX. Con ese mismo propósito, se presenta también una revisión de influyentes autores de inicios del siglo XX en torno a sus ideas sobre la universidad. Todo lo anterior tiene una gran significación para el cabal entendimiento de la universidad del siglo XXI. This article presents a panoramic view on the idea of the university in the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century. It seeks to identify some of the key features of the link between the university and the state. Thus, after reviewing the thought of prominent philosophers and scholars of higher education, itis offered an interpretation of European university models of the nineteenth century. With the same purpose, is also presented a review of influential writers of the early twentieth century around their ideas about the university. All this has a great significance for the proper understanding of the higher education of the twentieth one century. |
