dc.description	Entre las esferas política y científica existen diferencias sustantivas en cuanto a su objeto, propósitos y medios para alcanzarlos; sin embargo, ambas han interactuado de manera permanente y están arraigadas a condiciones histórico-sociales que, a lo largo de sus respectivas trayectorias, han dado sentido y proyección de futuro a las instituciones sociales. La relación entre ciencia y política encierra la necesidad de reconocer la existencia de múltiples tipos de vínculos - incluidos los éticos, los políticos y los religiosos - que esta relación plantea. Sin pretender transitar por los caminos trazados por esta relación, sí es de interés situar los puntos de entrecruzamiento de tal experiencia y poder evaluar en la actualidad, la viabilidad de un desempeño indistinto de roles institucionales por parte del científico en las políticas públicas. En este artículo se distinguen los principales rasgos que definen a los actores que forman parte de estas dos esferas: a) sus contextos, propósitos y medios para alcanzarlos, b) sus similitudes y asimetrías, c) sus compromisos y responsabilidades, y d) sus intereses e inclinaciones. Se concluye afirmando que la acción emprendida en los distintos campos sociales como lo son el científico y el político, alcanza un punto de coincidencia en la medida que la autoridad específica invertida en cada uno de ellos se corresponde con el interés de lograr no sólo el beneficio propio sino también el de la sociedad.	es_MX
dc.description	There are substantive differences between the political and scientific spheres in terms of their object, purposes and means to achieve them; however, both have interacted permanently and are rooted in social-historical conditions that, throughout their respective trajectories, have given meaning and future projection to social institutions. The relationship between science and politics raises the need to recognize the existence of multiple types of links - including the ethical, political and religious -that this relationship poses. Without attempting to go by the ways drawn up by this relationship, it is in our interest to situate the points of intersection of such experience and be able to evaluate at present, the viability of an indistinct practice of institutional roles by the scientist in public policies. In this paper we distinguish the main characteristics that define the actors that are part of these two spheres: a) their contexts, purposes and means to achieve them, b) their similarities and asymmetries, c) their commitments and responsibilities, and d) their interests and inclinations. It is concluded that the action undertaken in the different social fields such as the scientist and politician, reaches a point of agreement to the extent that the specific authority invested in each of them corresponds to the interest to achieve not only for its own benefit but also that of society.	es_MX
